ABOUT.
My Jubilees is a digital platform and marketplace dedicated to celebrating life’s special moments. It helps users keep track of important dates for their loved ones — birthdays, name days, anniversaries, and other milestones — while offering tools to create wishlists, plan events, and discover or send the perfect gift, all in one seamless experience.
Role.
As the UX/UI Designer and Project Manager, I led the product’s design and management from concept to launch. My responsibilities included shaping the brand identity, conducting user interviews, creating interactive mockups, and designing a responsive interface that ensures a cohesive experience across devices.
In my role as Project Manager, I also set project goals and timelines, coordinated the team’s daily work, and oversaw progress to keep the project aligned with our vision and launch plan.
Challenge.
The main challenge was to design a service that feels intuitive and joyful while still offering a rich set of features. Balancing simplicity with functionality required careful prioritization — deciding which elements should be visible upfront and which could be tucked away without compromising usability.
Another key challenge was creating a fully responsive design that adapts naturally across devices while keeping essential features accessible and visually balanced.
Research.
To understand our users’ needs, I began by defining our target audience: people who enjoy celebrating life’s milestones but often struggle to stay organized or find meaningful gifts. Through user interviews and informal surveys, several patterns became clear. Many users forget important dates even with digital tools, gift-giving often feels stressful and time-consuming, and existing solutions are scattered across multiple apps and websites.
These insights confirmed a clear opportunity for a service that brings planning, reminders, wishlists, and gifting into one place. From this, our design goals focused on making it effortless to remember and celebrate important occasions, creating a warm and approachable interface, and building a responsive experience that feels simple and enjoyable to use.
Design process.
To understand our users’ needs and expectations, I began by defining our target audience through a set of user personas — people who enjoy celebrating life’s milestones but often struggle to stay organized or find meaningful gifts in time.
After that, I started by mapping out the main user flows — from adding important dates to discovering and sending gifts. The goal was to ensure that every action could be completed in just a few steps, while keeping navigation light and predictable. Early flow diagrams helped identify overlapping features and remove unnecessary complexity.
Post Release
The platform has now been launched as a live web service and is available to all users (currently in Swedish and English). After the initial release, our focus has shifted toward monitoring real user behavior and gathering feedback to guide future improvements.
